The BUTE and the SOTE (Semmelweis Medical University) after a successful accreditation process has started a new course in rehabilitation engineering in September 2001.
The course that is the 3rd one in Europe (following the Dalarna University in Sweden and the King's College in London) is opened for engineers and medical doctors. The knowledge about rehabilitation, disabilities, available therapies, assistive devices and accessible environment is tought by professionals from several medical and rehabilitation units, engineers and architects having real experiences.

This is a 2 years course with 120h/period.

Visits to service units is integrated in the course providing opportunity to informal talks with professionals and disabled persons.
